Athletic Training Program, Class of 2015-2016

Allyson is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at the University of North Carolina, Allyson had the opportunity to work for collegiate teams such as football, men's lacrosse, women's soccer, and men's tennis in addition to two local high schools. Allyson worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia, receiving a Master of Science degree in Sports Medicine. She also completed research on self-myofascial release combined with segmental vibration therapy. Allyson is excited to explore the Rocky Mountains and work towards becoming a physician extender at the Steadman Clinic.

Brice was born and raised in Palmerton, Pennsylvania. He attended college not far from home at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. There he received his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training in 2013. He interned with three local high schools in Allentown, PA along with Blair Academy in New Jersey. He also interned with Muhlenburg College in Allentown, PA working with DIII football, volleyball, and basketball. In 2015 he received his Masters of Science in Athletic Training degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. During his two years at ODU he functioned as a head athletic trainer for Norfolk Public Schools at Booker T. Washington High School. Aside from his graduate assistantship position he covered many per diem opportunities for Sentara Sports Medicine such as the North American Sand Soccer tournaments and the National USTA women's youth clay court championship in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Brice also conducted research while at ODU which set out to determine the interrater and intrarater reliability of the 4-2-1 stepping algorithm to determine light touch sensation while applying Semmes-Weinstein Monofiliaments to the plantar aspect of the foot. Brice enjoys outdoor activities and all kinds of sporting events. He is also an avid skier having grown up near Blue Mountain Ski Resort in his home town as well as a golfer having played in high school and college. Brice looks forward to all the opportunities that the ATC Fellowship at The Steadman Clinic will bring!

Ete-kamba Jeremiah Amaku was born in Oakland, CA and attended undergraduate school at the University of San Francisco, and graduate school at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. He has worked with various sports including SFA's Conference Champion soccer team, and nationally-ranked Cheer squad. His most rewarding experience was during his time working with the competitive athletes at Mountain View High School in California. Ete-kamba enjoys listening to music from the 70's, performance training, helping patients better understand their injuries, and education the public on the importance of staying physically active.

A southern California native, Hillery completed her bachelor's of science degree in Kinesiology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. It didn't take long for Hillery to catch the athletic training bug during her undergraduate education, and she soon accepted a position as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Oregon. She earned her MS degree in Exercise and Movement Science while helping care for the Oregon women's soccer and football teams and researching the standardization of concussion management protocols amongst division 1 athletic programs.

Hillery spent 3 years as a staff athletic trainer and undergraduate athletic training education program instructor at Sacramento State University before moving home to be the athletic trainer for the women's soccer and women's water polo teams at the University of Southern California. After 8 years with USC, Hillery is excited to transition to the orthopedic clinic setting. She is ready to take on the educational and personal challenges that she is certain to be presented with over the next year.

Nick grew up in Margate, New Jersey. He studied at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2013. Upon graduation, Nick became a graduate assistant at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa where he worked at a high school as the head athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist. Nick earned his Master's of Science degree in Advanced Athletic Training in 2015. His Master's thesis involved designing a novel functional testing assessment to screen for risk of acute lower extremity injuries in adolescent athletes. He is an avid surfer and ice hockey player and enjoys visiting back home when he can, spending time with family and friends. Nick is very excited for this opportunity in Colorado and is looking forward to working with everyone at The Steadman Clinic.

Born in Texas, Olivia did not stay in this state long as her parents were both serving in the United States Air Force at the time. She grew up throughout the United States and finally settled in northern Pennsylvania, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Seeking further education and a change in climate, Olivia accepted a graduate assistantship position at the University of Florida where she has been working with the Department of Recreational Sports for the past two years. During this time she had the opportunity to work as an Athletic Trainer for various unique sport club teams while earning her Master of Science Degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training. While at the University of Florida, Olivia was given many differing work opportunities, including a chance to travel with a Florida youth softball team to Peru for an international tournament. This occasion was particularly enjoyable for Olivia because she loves to travel. In addition to traveling, she enjoys cooking (more so eating), being outdoors, exercising, drawing, and relaxing with friends and family. Olivia feels extremely blessed for the opportunity to work with and learn from outstanding medical professionals at the Steadman Clinic while enjoying the outdoor adventures Colorado has to offer.

Tiffany is originally from New Tripoli, Pennsylvania. She graduated with summa cum laude distinction from Concord University in 2012. There she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training while competing as a Division II collegiate softball and soccer player. After graduation, she continued her education at Kent State University where she worked as a teaching assistant and lab instructor in the Athletic Training Department and received a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Athletic Training. During her time at Kent State she taught exercise science and athletic training courses and labs while also acting as a preceptor for undergraduate students. In addition to this, she also worked as an athletic trainer for a local high school, covered sport camps at Kent State, and volunteered at the Akron Marathon medical tent. In May of 2015 she completed her Master's thesis at Kent State exploring the effects of low-level laser therapy on muscle soreness and recovery. Tiffany enjoys playing in adult sport leagues and pick-up games, working out, exploring the outdoors, and appreciating the beauty of nature. She is excited to experience all that Vail has to offer and to work alongside the exceptional physicians, athletic trainers, and MD fellows at the Steadman clinic.
