John H. Peloza, M.D. is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in spine surgery. For decades, he has been on the forefront of the advancement of spine surgery research and techniques, providing his patients with proven, predictable surgical outcomes.
Dr. Peloza has been named to the Becker’s Orthopedic & Spine Review’s “50 of the Best Spine Specialists in America” and has been awarded with Becker’s Healthcare Spine Leadership Award. He is also part of the design team that won an Orthopedics This Week Spine Technology Award and Medical Design Excellence Award for the Serengeti Minimally Invasive Retractor System.
Dr. Peloza has authored numerous scientific papers and book chapters. He is regularly asked to present at national and international spine, orthopaedic, and neurosurgical society meetings. Dr. Peloza has also participated in multiple FDA and clinical trials for new technology including stem cells, bone graft substitute, disc replacements and other motion devices for the spine.
Dr. Peloza attended the United States Air Force Academy with a focus in Civil Engineering, and later graduated from the University of Illinois with a Degree in Biology. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. At the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dr. Peloza completed his internship in General Surgery and his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Peloza completed his Sports Medicine and Knee Surgery Fellowship under the direction of Dr. J. Richard Steadman, followed by an International Spine Fellowship directed by Dallas Spine Group founder David Selby, MD.
