Hip Replacement & Trauma Surgery
Thea Wojtkowski, MD, grew up enjoying the outdoors in Boise, Idaho. Being an Alpine ski racer for Bogus Basin took her all over the West and solidified her love of the mountains. She received her Bachelors of Science with Honors in Humanities from Stanford University where she was also a member of the Varsity fencing team. She met her future husband, Waqqar Khan-Farooqi, MD, their freshman year of college. She stayed on at Stanford for a year doing research on the role of heat shock proteins in the development of type 1 diabetes before beginning her medical training at the University of Washington. Dr. Wojtkowski graduated in 1999 with Honors in Medicine. She stayed at the University of Washington for her Orthopaedic Residency. She especially enjoyed the rigorous orthopaedic trauma training at Haborview Medical Center. Since finishing residency, Dr. Wojtkowski has worked in Hawaii, North Carolina and Seattle, Washington before settling on the Western Slope of Colorado, first in Grand Junction and then Aspen where she is also the medical director for the Aspen Valley Ski Club. Her Orthopaedic Interests include injury prevention, orthopaedic trauma surgery and hip replacement surgery. She, Dr. Khan-Farooqi and their 4 children enjoy all the winter and summer activities available in Aspen, the Roaring Fork Valley, and beyond. She feels fortunate to be an Orthopaedic Surgeon and raise a family in such a wonderful place. Her practice philosophy is to listen to and collaborate with each patient to discover the best treatment path for them, whether it be operative or non-operative treatment. She enjoys the relationships she builds with all of her patients and enjoys seeing them around town. She is excited to be part of The Steadman Clinic and to be able to bring the cutting edge research and knowledge of the clinic to her patients.
