Five Questions with

No doubt the aging research was spectacular and opened the eyes of orthopaedic surgery investigators and clinicians. After all, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and sarcopenia are all aging-related disorders that orthopaedic surgeons are facing today.

Aging research. From the molecular level, all the way to the treatment of patients. Three of the four keynote speakers at the event all focused almost entirely on aging issues during their presentations.

The opportunity for the scientists to feel part of a team in clinical translation with the

surgeons working at The Steadman Clinic and SPRI. The invited speakers also know the

potential of securing funding through collaboration with other investigators attending

the summit.

This Summit allows the SPRI scientists and The Steadman Clinic surgeons to see the latest cutting-edge research for the musculoskeletal system. All the invited speakers are true leaders in their respective fields and the possibility of teaming with them is a big plus for all of us at SPRI and The Steadman Clinic.

During the first two meetings, I learned that attendees wanted more time to enjoy Vail as well. So, I changed the format this year to adhere to a Gordon Conference format. That change in the schedule allowed the invited speakers and attendees to enjoy their afternoons and see what Vail has to offer. It also provided all of them the opportunity to network and establish working relationships with other attendees of the Summit.
