Five Questions with Johnny Huard, Ph.D., Chairman, Director and Chief Scientific Officer, Center for Regenerative Sports Medicine at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute and The Steadman Clinic; and Distinguished Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Health in Houston, Texas
 
Dr. Huard assumed his dual role at SPRI and UT Health back in 2015 after serving as Vice Chair for Musculoskeletal Cellular Therapeutics, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Director of the Stem Cell Research Center, and Deputy Director of Cellular Therapeutics Research at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh for nearly 20 years.

Q5: As the chief organizer behind this event, what had you personally learned the most from the two earlier Summits and how did you use that new information during your preparation for the 2017 event?

During the first two meetings, I learned that attendees wanted more time to enjoy Vail as well. So, I changed the format this year to adhere to a Gordon Conference format. That change in the schedule allowed the invited speakers and attendees to enjoy their afternoons and see what Vail has to offer. It also provided all of them the opportunity to network and establish working relationships with other attendees of the Summit.
