Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, Ameed played college football before pursuing a career in medicine. He graduated summa cum laude from both Marymount University’s Post-Baccalaureate Program in Pre-Medical Sciences and Canisius University’s Physician Assistant Studies program in Buffalo, New York. During his physician assistant training, he completed clinical rotations across multiple medical specialties, including orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine alongside the medical team caring for the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. He also completed critical care training in the intensive care unit at Buffalo General Hospital, managing complex and critically ill patients. He has co-authored several peer-reviewed research publications in allergy, asthma, and immunology. Ameed relocated to Colorado in 2020 and has served with Vail Mountain Safety. Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys skiing, alpine touring, mountain biking, and hiking throughout the Rocky Mountains.
