Dr. Bartz graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in economics and then went to The University of Texas at Galveston to study medicine. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine where twice he was presented with the Paul Harrington Award for excellence in orthopaedic research. Dr. Bartz also received the prestigious Herodicus Society Award for best resident paper at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine for his study of the topographical matching of osteochondral transplant donor and recipient sites. He has been published in Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, American Journal of Sports Medicine, and Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma.
Dr. Bartz will come to Vail with his wife Kristie and children, Claire and James.
