Madison “Maddy” Hauge

I was born and raised in a South Florida small town called Port Saint Lucie, just 15 minutes from the beach. I am a proud alumni of Florida State University (FSU) where I received my bachelor’s in Athletic Training with a minor in child development. During my time at FSU, my semester clinical rotations were with Men & Women’s (M&W) swimming and diving, football (on and off season), softball, M&Ws track and field, and Godby high school. My personal interest in strength and conditioning led me to work at the FSU recreational gym and pushed me to get certified for personal training (NSCA-CPT). After my bachelor’s, I continued my education at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) where I obtained my master’s in Advanced Athletic Training. My clinical rotation for my first year as a graduate assistant was with UofSC’s M&Ws swim and dive team and my second year was with Orangeburg Preparatory Schools. I had the privilege to collaborate with Toni Torres McGehee and conduct my 2-year research project on ‘Body Image Dissatisfaction and Eating Disorder Risk in Collegiate Athletes’. I was exceptionally honored to receive a state (SCATA), district (MAATA), and national-level (NATA) athletic training scholarship in the spring semester of my first year. In my second year, I advanced my leadership skills as a teaching assistant for the first-year professional graduate athletic training students.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, swimming, exercising, and traveling (to see family/friends or scouting for the best local food). I cannot wait to experience the adventurous activities Colorado has to offer like snowboarding and conquering 14ers! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to absorb knowledge and gain experience every day from my new Steadman Clinic peers and mentors!

During the COVID-19 Pandemic Ryan worked in varying roles from “temperature/symptom checker” to “return-to-athletics coordinator.” He also completed a brief stint as an Orthopedic Technologist for Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center Orthopedics. Outside of health care Ryan enjoys spending time with his dog Max, cooking, lifting, and being active outdoors.
